  • A (Modern) History Lesson or A Look Into The Future?

    I'm torn with this review, mainly because I was expecting more about the future of coaching rather than the past. As a lesson in the recent developments of tactics & teams, it's up there with "Inverting the Pyramid". But here is where, for me personally it's let down. As someone who follows the game closely, I'm familiar with the teams, systems etc & with many of the other publications which Matt uses to back up his points. I think I probably view the game in much the same way as he does, and so, I feel the book will benefit those who are relatively new to coaching. In truth, who knows what the future holds? As the author acknowledges, one thing for sure is that the game WILL continue to change. One other niggle - the publishers need to tighten up their proof reading as there are some annoying grammatical errors throughout the book.
